Boston Harbor Island Races
OCTOBER 1, 2005
Saturday October 1st - Georges Island Pursuit Race.
Applications for the Pursuit Race on Saturday October 1st are due this weekend. Please organize your crew and let the Club know you will need
a boat and if you can take any students or members as crew. Or let us know you would like to crew.
There is a BBQ on the island afterwards and your family could meet you there using the ferries. Activities on Georges include fishing 101, kite decorating and flying, nautical flag making and tours of Fort Warren.
There are trophies for every category imaginable, e.g. youth, family, etc. (check the Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions).
In addition, there will be a dinner for $20 per person at the Boston Harbor Hotel, after the Captain's Meeting on Friday, September 30. The dinner is at 7pm and everyone is welcome. It should be a great opportunity to meet fellow sailors.
Please refer to www.bostonislands.com/regatta for Notice of Race, as well as the scratch sheet.
The October 1, 2005 Boston Harbor Islands Regatta is a pursuit race with boats handicapped at the start (1st boat to finish wins). The figure-eight course around islands is unique among yachting events. Please note you do not have to get a PHRF certificate but you will need information on the boat for the application form. The Club will pay half of member's entry fees. You must register this week. Please download a registration form, organize your crew and email the Club with a list of the specific information you need to complete the registration.
