The Cals are great sailing boats with full interior accommodations suited for families with several children or two cruising couples. The Pearson 34 has more moderate performance with larger interior and spacious cockpit. All boats have wheel steering, roller furling 135% genoas, 2 burner propane stoves w/oven, hot and cold pressure water, separate enclosed heads with showers and reliable 30 hp Yanmar diesels. Boats have electric refrigeration or ice boxes, all have separate nav stations.

OTHER EQUIPMENT: Each boat has a dodger, a high-end Raymarine C-80 navigation system at the steering pedestal with color displays for GPS chartplotter, digital depth and fish finder, and radar. Other electronics are VHF, stereo with interior and cockpit speakers, shore power, onboard battery chargers and cell phone outlets. Galleys have pots and pans, dishes, cups, glasses, bowls and cutlery for cooking, barbecue and barbecue kit. A dinghy with outboard, ample tool kit with engine spares, fasteners and fuses, flashlight and batteries are standard. All boats have manual and electric bilge pumps.
SAFETY EQUIPMENT: Safety equipment exceeds federal requirements. All PDFs are type 1 offshore-rated, extinguishers have metal, not plastic, valves for durability. There are working and storm anchors, and an emergency tiller aboard.
SAILING LIMITS: Gold Plus boats may be sailed anywhere in New England. Minimum crew is 2.
MEMBER QUALIFICATIONS: Gold Plus membership requires bareboat or equivalent certification and training or acceptable experience on similar size boats, plus credible chart reading experience needed to navigate safely in Boston harbor and distant waters. Recommended preparation is the Master 30 or 40 Bareboat course.
OPTIONAL DAMAGE WAIVER: Holds you harmless for damage caused by collision with other boats or groundings.
BENEFITS: Gold Plus members have unlimited weekday and weekend use, a week vacation (additional days $70), 2 advanced weekend reservations, plus unlimited use of the Bronze and daysailing fleets and limited (day ahead reservations) of the Pearson 31, J29s and Albin 28s. Qualified members may use larger boats 36-39 ft by paying the daily rental difference. Pay $275 to participate in the Club's Wednesday evening racing program.
GOLD PLUS LEARN AND SAIL: $5766. The Gold Plus Special Program combines the Masters 40 Bareboat course with a one year Gold Plus membership for a 25% discount when purchased initially. Membership is 1 year, includes damage waiver.
