| ASA SAILING CERTIFICATION $45 |
The Boston Harbor Sailing Club is an affiliate school of the American Sailing Association (ASA) a recognized international standard for sailing education. Most foreign countries and now many states require certification from a recognized authority to rent or charter boats in their locales. ASA Certification is accepted by foreign and domestic governments and most charter companies and becomes your "sailing passport" when you travel here or abroad. The certification process involves written and onboard exams given by the Club after completion of course work appropriate to the certification sought. Some exams can be challenged without course work by persons with appropriate experience. For a description of what each certification represents and descriptions of each exam go the Exam Study Guides Section.
The ASA Basic Keelboat exam certificate also includes NASBLA (National Association of State Boating Law Administrators) certification required by some states for use of boats by teenagers and in some cases adults.
