The Sonar is a 23 ft performance-oriented day sailor with comfortable seating for 4-6 adults. Our Sonar is equipped with a roller furling jib, all new standing rigging, sturdy sails built for day-in, day-out use, and all the safety equipment required by federal law and then some. It has a self-bailing cockpit, clear visibility under the boom for sailing in a busy harbor, and a modest cuddy forward to stow your gear while sailing. Because the Sonar has no running lights it must be returned to its mooring by sunset. |

MEMBER BENEFITS: Sonar members enjoy unlimited daily and weekend use of the boat in concert with other Sonar members.

SAILING LIMITS: The Sonar may be sailed anywhere in Boston Harbor.

MEMBER QUALIFICATIONS: Sonar membership requires BHSC/ASA/USS/RYA Basic Keelboat or equivalent certification or sufficient prior experience on similar boats, plus chart reading experience needed to to navigate safely in Boston Harbor. For beginners, the recommended preparation is the Day Sailing course.

OPTIONAL DAMAGE WAIVER: The optional damage waiver relieves you of liability for damages to the boat and/or other boats caused by collisions with other boats or by running aground. It does not cover loss/breakage of equipment or damage caused by gross negligence.
